The Model 2AS is an updated version of the Model 2S stereo ribbon microphone that has an active system. It has the same design as the Model 2S and produces the same unique sound quality. It has a special motor structure and custom resonator plates, which give it an extended, detailed, and three-dimensional sound similar to our other Model 2 series microphones.

The Model 2AS has custom-made toroidal transformers that provide high output, and it works with phantom power to buffer the impedance without adding any extra gain or coloration to the sound. The impedance matching is perfect, giving the microphone 13 dB more output than the Model 2S and very low self-noise.
